FDJ (Desert Psychlist) Superb heavy stoner/hard rock with a vocalist who sounds like the love child of Axl Rose and Jack White.

flightoficarus (Metal Trenches) This is just another 60's/70's psychodelic good time. The perfect compliment to blacklight-painted walls and a room full of smoke. There are plenty of groovy hooks and walls of Sabbathy distortion to get down to. I find myself wanting to use out-dated expressions like "jive-turkey" and "way out."

Black clouds haunt me.White lightning drives me. Still you ask for my head? Don't you know your gods are dead? Do you see that draggin' over the hill? That's me and my flaming wheels. I'm coming at you at godspeed, and I'm dragging the devil with me. I'll trample you under my hooves. The hounds will have the rest of you. And when I sit and drink your wine, I'll think of our good times. Do you see that draggin' over the hill? That's me and my flaming wheels. I'm coming at you at godspeed, and I'm dragging the devil with me.

One step closer and my feet slither south. I can barely stand upright, or hide this dagger in my mouth. You must've been so pleased that you finally found me - there I was: under a carpet, avoiding the views of the prophet. All my friends call me legion, I'm a collection of lesions. Go on and take my hand. I'll make you a god where you stand. One step closer and my feet slither south. I can barely stand upright, or hide this dagger in my mouth. Look at you now: just a cadaver. Pieces of bones that don't matter. I could make you so much more. We could be the stuff of lore. One step forward. Both feet in the grave. Two steps backward, into a den of snakes. One step forward and my feet slither south. I can barely stand upright, or hide this dagger in my mouth.

Kill it. Like you mean it. Off with it's head. Make it bleed. Don't lose speed. Make sure it's dead. Drive off to Hades in the dead of night, swinging your sword, holding your fists high. Pull back the queen, take her to her home. Then the holy plants will grow. Twelve horses rumbling, blowing holy smoke, pulled me away before Hades awoke. Oh I bet you didn't even see me. You must be blind. I stole your queen away. Left only smoke behind. "I'll have my dagger in you before the winter comes. I'll twist it around like the gorgon's tongue. I'll have your horses tear you apart, but I'll keep your heart." Silver tongue priestess don't waste your time. I'll be leaving come autumn time. Twelve horses rumbling, blowing holy smoke, pulled me away before you awoke.

I got a crooked smile because of my motormouth. I got this knife in my lungs because I speak when I want. And I don't mind. I picked my noose to fit my suit. No I don't mind. I got this blackened eye because I refuse to crawl. I got these holes in my hands from being nailed to a wall. And I don't mind. I've picked my coffin, colour and all. No I don't mind. No, I don't mind.
5.
I wear my heart, proud, like a crown. Pay no attention to the Devil and his gun. He's gonna shoot me down. And I can't promise that I won't leave you, 'cause I don't know where this horse leads me to - might be the devil, might be the sea. Forget about me. And if I don't make it to the pasture: let me die here, carry me no further. If my shade of blue no longer suits you: put me in the ground, I'll make no sound. Forget about me. And I can't promise that I won't leave you. 'Cause I don't know where this horse leads me to - might be the devil, might be the sea. Forget about me. If my shade of blue no longer suits you: put me in the ground, I'll make no sound. Forget about me.
6.
This was a sword above my head - tryin' to figure out what dead men said. Black hole eyes, my shoulders tremblin' - there's not a drug that ain't worth taking. Heavy axe with casket weight. When it swings embrace your fate. If I struggle just don't fight - tie up my hands, make sure they're tight. TOMAHAWK INCOMING Don't make me part of your totem yet. 'Cause I haven't left. Have they got their knives in for me? Can't talk now, they might be listening. Do you see that hole in the ceiling? That's where they're letting the devils in. Son, could you take these chains off me? Son, are you even listening? Son, why have you forsaken me? Son, could you please just pray for me? TOMAHAWK INCOMING Don't make me part of your totem yet. 'Cause I haven't left.

about

The Swan is the final, 6 track, tape mastered EP, released by Ruff Majik and the team that have accompanied them through the creation of The Bear and The Fox. Yes, it keeps to the tradition of Ruff Majik EP's, being live and raw and balls to the wall - and with this release, maybe even more so. Sculpted over a weekend at a newly built studio owned and built by long time friends and collaborators Dewald 'Dave' Visser, Shawn Taylor and Craig Howie, this album is audibly sincere and filled with camaraderie. On the first day, the last parts of the studio was built, with the band members lending a hand. On the second day, the band played through a dozen soundchecks, with the engineers running around to get exactly the right room sound and mic placements - these recordings are now known as 'The real swan'. On the third day, Ruff Majik spent roughly an hour in the studio to punch out all the tracks with violent enthusiasm. This is the heavy album, much more reliant on the riff than the previous two, bringing in thunderous grease covered tracks with only a few seconds in between to catch your breath before being suffocated by the wall of sound again. Haunting, howling, slowly tearing at you, then drowning you. During the writing of this album, the band faced the pale horse and his rider, watching them closely, and decided to defiantly tell them to fuck off - the lyrics of this album reflect that attitude. Find the biggest speakers you can and blow out your windows, hell, blow out your neighbors windows too.
